Have a beautiful day
I have been working on several projects over the past few weeks - so many ideas in my mind, sometimes I branch out before finishing up a project. I am sure I am not the only person this happens to!?
So I was simultaneously working on my 2019 calendar and an Altenew class for AECP and trying out new ink colors when this card happened and as I finished it I decided to enter it into the January 2018 Altenew Inspiration Challenge, please go and see Norine's beautiful inspiration on the Altenew card blog.
Below is what I stamped on my October 2019 calendar page from Paper Source. I wanted to make a leaf pattern in autumn colors.
I stamped my pattern using my Misti because I wanted to be able to over-stamp and partially stamp many times in many ink colors so as the stamps were already in the Misti I decided to stamp this out on watercolor paper as well.
To finish up I added splatters using diluted Firefly ink and then made the panel into a card on an orange card base, the sentiment was stamped in Evergreen, then over-stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in clear.
I would love to hear what you think of my projects, which one do you prefer?
The leaves are from three Altenew sets:
Majestic Bloom
Beautiful Day
Build-A-Flower Rose
Sentiment from Floral Frame
Altenew Inks:
Sunkissed, Orange Cream, Autumn Blaze, Firebrick, Sand Dunes and Evergreen

I liked the clean look of the calendar stamping, it was just what I wanted for that October page, however the result on the watercolor page was less convincing and so this is when - inspired by my Creative watercolor media class from Altenew Academy - I decided to go over the leaves with clean water. And look what happened!

Really beautiful! I love the rich and deep inking that you achieved here, Helen! The placement of leaves is lovely! Well done on both projects!
ReplyDeleteThanks Virginia, I also like the deep color and the way the ink sits on the paper.
ReplyDeleteOh no, I totally stay fully focused until finished a project (wink)... Nah, no way, I'm a Gemini and focus isn't my strong point lol. What a beautiful take on the inspiration Helen, you've rocked it!
ReplyDeleteIt’s fun to see where our minds take us though! Thanks for your lovely comment Therese!
