Tulips!
I love tulips, they are some of my favorite flowers. From before Christmas until Easter there is constantly a bouquet of tulips somewhere in my house.
Today I was inspired to design a tulip card using one of Altenew's Tulip sets called just that; Tulip. When it came out in 2016 Jennifer McGuire had it among her favorite stamp sets for the year and even though there are other Altenew sets featuring tulips this has remained my favorite. You get three blooms and three stems with leaves as well as a single stem. And did I mention that this is a color layering set? And that you get outlines as well? OK enough, on to my card!

How to make this card:
- Start by sponging Eastern Sky and Frayed Leaf inks (all dye inks are Altenew Crisp inks) onto the top and bottom of an A2 sized panel. Make sure to keep it light and leave a paler strip towards the middle of the card.
- Die cut the sponged background using a rectangle die, slightly smaller than A2. This removes any harsh edges and provides a thin border.
- On light green card stock stamp several leaves and stems in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen inks.
- On light pink card stock stamp several blooms using Coral Bliss and Heart Beat, Rouge and Crimson, Coral Berry and Ruby Red. I wanted my tulips to look red but also like individuals so I made many and mixed the inks up.
- Cut out the blooms and foliage with the matching dies.
- Arrange the flowers in a pleasing pattern and glue down
- Stamp a sentiment from Label Love - French (did you know that this set exists in several languages?) in black Versafine Onyx black on to the the same green card stock used for the stems.
- Mount the panel to a white A2 folded note card.
By stamping the flowers on colored card stock you get more natural looking flowers, I really like this look.

Please note that I do not get a commission from Altenew or any other company, I just love these products and like to provide links to them as a service to you, my blog readers.
Please let me know if you like my card, I would love to read some comments!

Känns precis som när vi var i Seattle och gick genom tulpanfälten för två år sedan. Lika vackert!
