Altenew release blog hop April 29, 2021
Today I am very happy to be guest designer for an Altenew Blog Hop to celebrate the release of the Wildflower Paper Crafting Collection in April of 2021. You should have hopped here from Terri Koszler and I am the last person on the hop - I'm so happy yo made it all this way! Go back to the start of the hop at Altenew to make sure you see all the lovely inspiration!
Using elements from the same collection ensures that all the colors and style of images match which almost guarantees a great end result. These cards were easy and fun to put together!
For this first card I used some of the flowers from both the Pink Posy and Bitty Bits Ephemera packs to make a Scandinavian looking card. I altered some of the paper cuts to make them fit my scheme, added a sentiment strip and glued everything down to a pale gray card base. CAS for sure!
This next card uses even more cut up flowers to create a very abundant arrangement of simple flower shapes. I placed all the little flowers down on my white card base and picked them up all together with Press 'n Seal - you could use wide washi tape for this step, or painters tape. Then I put drops of glue behind every flower and repositioned the arrangement on the card base.
I added a sentiment from the
Versatile Vases stamp set - can you tell that I messed up? The card shifted in my MISTI so when I stamped the second time, the alignment wasn't perfect. However I was not going to lose my lovely flower bouquet and my husband says it looks fine, so I'll just pretended it did not happen!
First I stamped two of the
Versatile Vases in
Jet Black Altenew Crisp Ink on one of the lovely sheets of paper, then I cut the vases out using the corresponding dies. I wanted the vases to look like they were glazed or possibly made of glass so I pressed the die cuts straight onto a clear embossing pad, sprinkled over clear embossing powder and heat set. You can see how shiny they are in the picture below.
Then I used two other sheets of the paper to create a background, positioned my vases and bouquets from the ephemera sets - some of which I altered - and finally heat embossed one of the enclosed sentiment to shine like the vases.
It's not a release hop without prizes, in fact $200 in total prizes!
To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $20 gift certificate to 5 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer's blog post by May 5, 2021 for a chance to win.
Altenew will draw 7 random winners from the comments on each stop of this blog hop, full list below, and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on May 7. Good luck to you!
