Life is full of surprises, I never thought I'd love Glitter Card Stock but the fact is I cannot get enough of it! Here are some new projects that I have been working on as part of the latest Altenew Educators New Favorite Blog Hop. Thanks Terri Koszler at Home is where the craft is for sending visitors over here!
As this is my first post for 2022 I thought I'd do a New Years card using up all the scraps of glitter card stock that I have been holding on to, not letting a smidgeon go to waist! I cut them all into strips and glued them tightly together on a sheet of copy paper and then die cut the numbers using the Bold Numerals die set.
I stamped the
Fireworks for the background in Firefly and Eastern Sky
Crisp Inks, glued down the numbers and then stamped the sentiment in Eastern Sky and Ultramarine. The panel was then cut down to 5 by 3 3/4 inches and glued on to a matching blue card base from Faltkarten, that I stamped the Fireworks along the edge in tone on tone blue ink.
Here is a closeup of the stamping and the glittery goodness of the numbers:
The second card was done in much the same way - glueing strips of glitter card stock and die cutting the
Mega Hello Die that I stacked up twice to make it a little more sturdy. The Hello was then glued on to a slightly too small piece of blue card stock, I wanted it to spill over the edge.
On taking the pictures I realized the o at the end is a little crooked - I cannot unsee that now! Tell me in the comments if it bothers you, so annoying is it not?
The white card base seemed to need a little bit of whimsy so I stamped a pattern of simple flowers and leaves from
Folksy Florals in Frosty Pink and Silver Lake on the front
and back of the panel. The combination of striped pattern and 60ies style flowers is really cool, but subtle. You can see it in the picture here:
Here is another look at the two cards:
