Hello and good fortune!

Don't you love the look of ink blending?
I do but I am not always very good at it but using the right inks and paper makes it easier. I made the card below as a spinoff of my calendar page for July (calendar blogpost here) as I was so pleased with ink blending through a stencil.

Distress Oxide inks are much easier to blend than other inks I find and if you blend through a stencil that also makes a big difference.

I actually used three Distress Oxide inks although I forgot to add the Antique Linen to the picture...
After taping down the stencil I went for a gradual effect, lightest inks at the bottom and darkest at the top of the card. As I am not a patient person (!) I set the ink with my heat gun and I wanted to heat emboss the cranes so I needed to make absolutely sure my background was nice and dry.

The cranes were stamped in black Versafine Ink and heat embossed in clear powder.
Did you know that origami cranes symbolise good fortune? If you fold 1000 your wish would be granted - no way I will do that, I will stamp mine and hopefully good fortune will come to the recipient of this card!

I am entering this card into Virginia's Show and Share - visit Virginia Lu's blog here for details of this fun challenge.
