Mixed Media Madness

Today I am participating in the Mixed Media Madness Instagram Hop by the Altenew Educators!

Mixed Media is a bit of a mystery to me but adding several techniques to a project qualifies, here is a definition from the web: "In visual art, mixed media describes artwork in which more than one medium or material has been employed." I used stamping, texture paste, a stencil, a gold paper frame and some die cut items to create my card today.

First I stamped an all over background in Morning Frost ink using the hanna elements from the Painted Rainbow stamp set. I masked off an oval in the middle of my piece corresponding to the inside of my Vineleaf gold frame, (you can not really see this background in the photographs except in the central window). Then I unevenly mixed some Emerald ink into some Ranger Opaque Matte Texture Paste and spread through the Fine Tulle stencil. Once this had dried I glued the Vineleaf gold frame on to my project.

I then stamped and die cut one of the birds from Birds of a Feather in Rouge, Crimson, Velvet and Charcoal Suit inks, I also die cut the branch from some wood paper and glued all down to the card. To complete my card I heat embossed "tweet!" in Rose Gold embossing powder.

Be sure to check out all the stops on this Insta Hop for a chance to win a prize from Altenew, please start the hop at @altenewllc and make sure to hop by my post as well @mes_cartes_a_moi

Hugs,
Helen
