Altenew Educators "Alphabet Name Game" Blog Hop and Linky Party + Giveaway
Today we are playing the Alphabet Name Game - the first letter of my name is H for Helen and for... Heat Embossing, so that is the technique I am focusing on in this post!
I decided to make autumn cards for this October blog post and used a couple of older favorite stamp sets to create heat embossed backgrounds and fall arrangements. For the backgrounds I used Pattern Power on two of the cards and Dot Botanicals for the grape card. The juicy looking fruit images are from the Simple Fruits and the Simple Flowers sets!
For the very subtle background: From Neenah 110 lb card stock, cut an A2 card base and score the middle. Repeatedly stamp a pattern in clear embossing ink, sprinkle on clear embossing powder and heat set until smooth and shiny.
I made a second version of the first card using another pattern for the background and this time I stamped the sentiment on a strip and dipped the whole thing in embossing ink and again heat embossed in clear powder.
But there's more! What's a hop without YOU? There is an Inlikz at the Altenew blog for you to enter your gorgeous Altenew "Alphabet Name Game" creations; Altenew will pick 2 of their favorite handmade creations from those who joined the linky party and they will each receive a $15 Altenew gift certificate.
